We are excited to offer you this unique & beautiful varietal from Aloha Hills Farm in Kona. Maragogype is known as the elephant bean, you’ll see why when you lay eyes on these larger than average beans! Only a few producers in Hawaii are growing this crop, it has a low yield and susceptible to disease such as leaf rust, plaguing the islands and many other growing regions. However, Rick (the owner of Aloha Hills) and his team did a superb job on this coffee, and we know you will be as thrilled with the results.
We partnered with Miguel Meza from Isla Custom Coffees. Miguel has been working with Rick to offer this rare varietal to roasters across the globe. This is the first year the entire crop has not gone to auction and we took the opportunity to get a portion of the small lot.
